2024年10月4日（金）から 10月27日（日）、K Art Galleryにて、
Hiromu Oka の個展、『SAVE POINT』を開催いたします。

本展「Save Point」は、Hiromu Oka の新作映像作品の公開、リソグラフ印刷で制作する作品集のリリースを兼ねた、自身初の個展となります。本展の映像作品には、実家に眠っていた8mm ビデオテープを使用しています。自身の生後から卒園まで、両親が撮影してくれたテープをデジタライズし、全フレームを紙に印刷。自身が覚えているものは大きく、覚えていないものは小さく 紙に印刷しスキャン。6500以上もあるフレームを全てタイムラインに並べ、それらがスクリーンで再生された時、曖昧なシルエットと鮮明な素材の質感は、美化された妄想のようなビジュアルを映し出します。会場では PHILIPS社の 86インチ大型モニターで映像作品を4K で上映するともに、オリジナルのグラフィック作品も販売します。30 年前の自分を当時 30 代だった両親が撮影し、同じく 30 代になった自分が自分を編集した本作品。時代を超えて両親と共同作業をしたかのような夢見心地な感覚。その記録をここにセーブします

Profile: Hiromu Oka
1993年愛媛県生まれ。映像作家。アナログとデジタルをミックスした映像作品を手掛ける。2019年よりリソグラフを使ったコマ撮りアニメーションの制作活動を開始。国内外の様々なメディアで映像作品を手がけている。

From Friday, October 4, 2024, to Sunday, October 27, 2024, K Art Gallery will host Hiromu Oka's solo exhibition, "SAVE POINT."

This exhibition, "Save Point," marks Hiromu Oka's debut solo exhibition and will feature the premiere of his new video work as well as the release of a collection of works created through risograph printing. For the video piece, Oka used 8mm video tapes that had been stored at his family home. These tapes, filmed by his parents from his birth until he finished kindergarten, were digitized, and every frame was printed onto paper. Frames corresponding to memories he vividly recalls were printed larger, while those he doesn’t remember were printed smaller. Each frame was then scanned. Over 6,500 frames were aligned on a timeline, and when these images play on the screen, the ambiguous silhouettes and clear textures of the material evoke a dreamlike visualization of memories beautified by nostalgia.

At the gallery, the video work will be presented in 4K on an 86-inch PHILIPS monitor, and original graphic pieces will also be available for purchase. This project, where his parents filmed him 30 years ago when they were in their 30s, and now Oka himself, also in his 30s, edits that footage, creates a dreamlike sensation as if he is collaborating with his parents across time. This is the record he has chosen to "save" now.

Profile: Hiromu Oka
Born in 1993 in Ehime, Japan, Hiromu Oka is a filmmaker who creates works blending analog and digital techniques. Since 2019, he has been producing stop-motion animations using risograph printing. His films have been featured across various media platforms both in Japan and internationally.
